PERM Case

The PERM labor certification process consists of three steps leading to permanent residence.  The first step involves obtaining an approved application for labor certification from the DOL.  The second step involves obtaining approval of an immigrant visa petition from the USCIS, based on the DOL PERM labor certification.  Both of these steps are undertaken by the employer as the U.S. sponsor.  The third step involves the employee’s application either to adjust status from non-immigrant to permanent resident in the U.S., or obtain an immigrant visa at a U.S. Consulate in his home country.
